LUUMS Composers' Collective 2023/24
Mae LUUMS Composers Collective yn cynnig platfform i unrhyw fyfyriwr gyfansoddi cerddoriaeth, cael ei waith yn cael ei berfformio bob tymor mewn arddangosfeydd cyngerdd a gigs, a threulio amser gyda chyfansoddwyr eraill. Rydym yn croesawu pob arddull gerddorol o bedwarawdau llinynnol a gweithiau corawl, i ganwyr-gyfansoddwyr a darnau electronig arbrofol.
Rydym yn gymdeithas gymdeithasol a chydweithredol iawn ac yn aml rydym yn gweithio gyda'n gilydd ar ddarnau, sydd wedi dod yn ffordd hwyliog o ddod i adnabod ein gilydd a dysgu mwy am gyfansoddi. Yn ddiweddar buom yn cydweithio â MME Society (Music Multimedia and Electronics) ar gyfer gig achlysurol yng Nghlwb Llyfrau Hyde Park. Wrth gwrs, rydym hefyd yn gweithio gyda'r perfformwyr rhyfeddol o LUUMS fel y gall ein darnau ddod yn realiti.
Rydyn ni'n cwrdd bob prynhawn Mercher rhwng 3-5 yr hwyr yn yr Ysgol Gerdd i drafod darnau newydd, cerddoriaeth rydyn ni'n angerddol amdani, ac wrth gwrs, i gyfansoddi! Rydym hefyd yn trefnu digwyddiadau cymdeithasol fel teithiau i Old Bar, yn ogystal â'r daith flynyddol i Å´yl Gerdd Gyfoes Huddersfield fyd-enwog bob mis Tachwedd. Mae yna hefyd ddigon o gymdeithasu LUUMS ehangach, sy'n ffordd wych o gwrdd â phobl o'r un anian ac o bosib y rhai a fydd yn perfformio'ch cerddoriaeth!

Rhys Wilford (he/him)
Manager
Rhys is a 4th year Meng Electronic Engineering student from Sheffield. He has been a keen guitar player since the age of 8 and feels most at home writing and arranging for rock ensembles. He draws inspiration from a wide range of sources and takes every opportunity to discover new music. Rhys has spent the past two years as a departmental member of LUUMS and felt like now it was finally a good time to jump in to contributing towards an ensemble, with Composers Collective being the perfect fit! He is excited to help grow the collective and explore new musical avenues with the group, building on the success of last year’s team.​
Melissa Wright (she/her)
Manager
Melissa (she/her) has enjoyed being part of composers collective throughout her uni years. She is dedicated to growing composers collective and creating opportunities for composers and songwriters to have their music performed to an audience. Melissa composes for a range of styles and ensembles, recently taking a larger interest into composing for brass band. Other compositional and musical insterests include playing in bands, song-writing, and writing for smaller chamber ensembles. She is grateful for the opportunities and confidence she has gained through composers collective and is excited to work to support the composers in LUUMS.
